Rug handknit from the wool of 18 merino sheep.

Christien Meinderstma is an artist living in Rotterdam. Her creation, FLOCKS, creates beautiful pieces of clothing and home decorations out of fine sheep skin. Her rugs and poufs are made with huge knitting needles which create the stunning knitted pattern. Her pieces are both commanding yet subdued and calming. Each piece comes with a tag that describes exactly what sheep the wool has come from. Modern design store, Design Within Reach, has her poufs for sale starting at $800. It will probably be a very long time till I can afford one of these gems but I’m determined to get one for my dream home.
